Folkoric art, most likely brought home by someone from a holiday trip, Eastern Europe most likely. Loved it because my mom (born and raised central Europe) used to paint in comparable style on wood. But a bit more refined. She sold her stuff big time in the 70's and early 80's in Holland and I loved to help her on the markets. No recollection of source or sale of this item. Probably market, not registered in digital files. But sure it found a home.
