Hugo Boss Chic Men's Shoes

I found this pair near my house early April 2017. No matter how expensive Hugo Boss may be, the leather was not even stitched to the sole but just glued. And the glue had gone loose on one of them on one side. But otherwise they were just the finest and far from worn out. Just look at the pretty pattern in the leather. So I brought them to a shoe repair shop, paid €10 and sold them €21 in May.

More Square Wicker Baskets Or Closet Organizers

Single item, not even a set, but near new and of decent quality. Found April 2017, sold August €10. Looking back I'm surprised about that amount! I think at the shop I'd stick €5 max on it!

But the fun is looking back in photo's I found this one, almost the same, listed March 2017, sold a few days after the other one, €3,50. But it had some signs of wear.

Green Bottle Vase And Clear Glass Jug Vase

Both sold the same day so I take it to the same person. Also listed together early April 2017. The set was picked up €10 around six weeks later.

Vintage Suitcase

Vintage cardboard suitcase, pretty worn and far from unique. But found in front of my door I thought I'd give it a try. Listed early April 2017, sold barely a month later €10. Lady told me she 'collected' them for storage in her bedroom.

Three Very Cute Baskets

Flat multi-purpose baskets, but perfect to make closet or wardrobe organizers, lined and decorated. Cheaply made in a country far away from the Western world, by a very poorly payed worker. Stuff I honestly think shouldn't exist. But better resold than incinerated immediately. Even though cotton and wicker leaves just clean ashes.

There wasn't even a brand mark on them. Wonder where and how cheaply they were sold new, so I was pretty suprised to get even €10 for the set.

All The Bread Boxes I Ever Had And One Wooden One Sold

I don't store my bread in bread boxes. Stays fresher in fridge and keeps longer! Yet I had a number of them in my life. For crackers or cookies or so. But they left my house after not having place for them any more. Here's the list:

I once started out with a bread box like this one (think 1984 or so). But in ochre yellow. Equally chipped. It came from my gandmother's place, dating from before 1950 for sure. I think after she moved from her kind of primitive old little house to a comfy flat closer to my parent's place.

It wasn't very practical. Unbelievable people sell this on Etsy at this price. I found one on a Dutch site cheaper and without any damage. 

I trashed it (but this is way before internet time and the possibilities of selling stuff on line) after I found one like this on the curbs. My mum had it in off white I think.

But mine's plastic strips were in white. What I remember is they never wanted to stay in place. I also retrashed it. Model same as my mums's and the white and red I had later on.

I think because around 1992 we bought a micrwave oven. Our first ever and had to be placed on top of the fridge. Where bread box was. So it went out.

End of 2005 Man and I got the luxury of getting two next door apartments. Fridge stayed my place. Neighbour moving to a home gave him one. Microwave went to him. Then at some time later I found a wooden bread box to put on top of my fridge.

Then my friend Freek from down the street brought me a microwave oven taken from his mother's place (also moving to a home). Worked but with a hick up, timer didn't automatically stop. But better then no microwave at all. So this breadbox had to go as well. This time listed on internet and sold €3 after seven months.

Vintage Photo Album

Arriving to finds April 2017.

This is just so pretty. More than vintage, possibly early last century. Some signs of age, but otherwise unused. From a box simply placed in front of my door Not a thing I expected to sell quickly, but it went after four months or so €10.

Vintage Nijntje Or Miffy First Television

Though this toy is plastic it's vintage or at least out of date. 

Because new for sale now I only find more modern versions. Kind of closer to flat screen tv's. Mine had sort of 1970's electric clock flaps but it's completely mechanical and the baby has to turn them with pushing the big blue buttons.

I'm sure I listed it and it's removed from mail, so it must have sold, but I can't find it back in admin. But I do remember someone picking it up at the door. Even showing the lady how one of the buttons was somewhat harder to push. And her telling me she thought that was actually good for her child or grandchild.

Somehow that period in 2017 I did my own way of reintegration project for getting back into paid work for some 12 hours a week. It was a huge change in my life back then and must be the explanation for so many gaps in my history of selling for that year.

Vintage Books And Magazines

I found these three items most likely together on the curb across the street as I photographed them all the same day April 2017. But only the last has admin, and it clearly says source: street.

I honestly don't remember what happened to this Dutch translated edition of an American magazine from 1961. No admin, but from old emails I can conclude I let it definitively expire September 2017.

This is a Dutch book about making funny sounds with your mouth from the 1970's. Or imitating all kinds of sounds. To be the hooter at any party. Including a 7 inch record. On a plastic insert in the book, still to bet cut out! Looked totally silly to me but it sold at a market, at least that I remember clearly.

This Laurel & Hardy 1974 edition I do know I sold on line September 2017 €3.

1970's Watering Can

When I was a teenager I had one close to this for watering some plants that I was allowed to have on my bedroom windowsill. Though it was orange and I don't really remember what the docor on it was like. But the model is this.

At the time fairly cheap plastic stuff. Would have kept it for nostalgia, but I was happy to make €5 and it went within five days April 2017. I use a more practical modern thing for myself (also from trash) in green plastic that's good for both in- and outside.

Flat Wall Display Cabinet

The Man found this in bright daylight on a short bike trip in the neighbourhood. It's about half a meter square, the door five centimeters more and maybe ten deep. And almost brand new. Even the screw holes for the hanging lookin unused. But an item that not a lot of people would be looking for I expected. So I gave it time and it went €10 in September 2017, five months after first listing.

Black French Glass 1980's Hexagonal Bowls

These are so 1981 or just after! When all fashion was angular and especially for home decoration black and white. Admin says Man brought them to me, cycling for a morning errand.

He has a couple of plates like that is his flat most likely curb found. That we rarely use, just to serve a late evening snack or so. 

I so grew up with this and think it's the ugliest crockery ever. I still see it coming in the thrift shop sometimes and it doesn't go. Even in white. Or even the clear glass true Arcopal hexagonal desert bowls. And mine are neither Arcopal pr Arcoroc. Bottom just said 'France'.

I thought whatever let's list them. And sold to my surprise the four larger bowls sold at once €10 after three months. Smaller one maybe retrashed.

Picked up at the door by a person who somehow gave me the impression of being the holder of a small restaurant. That may explain it.

Carvela Stiletto Heeled Sandals

I photographed this pair late April 2017, sold €10 a bit over a month later. Admin says source: street. But I can't remember the find. Possibly the Man picked them up on a morning bicycle tour. I vaguely recall they were picked up at the door by a male person. Though for a drag queen the size (Europe 40) is a bit small. But some guys do have small feet.

Artist's Drawing Folder

Quality artist's materials are expensive and for students or beginning professionals a good deal is always welcome. Crayons, pastels etc. sell big time at the thrift shop. Even partly tubes of paint will go. 

A large drawing folder, used or not as long as you can still close it well is of course a neccessity for an artist who still has to travel to go show his or her work. I think even in the digital age, and thank God for that. Gone within three weeks €5.

Brown Knitted Designer Pouffe

It's strange but from the two knitted pouffes I found and sold in 2017, this is the more expensive one, but sold at the lower amount, only €4. But it was before the purple one. Otherwise I recall nothing special to report, other than that it was in mint condition and from a designer shop.

Wicker Toy Storage Box

Found I don't remember when. Been in my house for so long holding yarns, I think. Or other craft materials. One day it had to make place. Photographed to sell but it never went. The damage wasn't disturbing its functionality though. Then it landed outside underneath the balcony. Then works had to be done there. Painting and repair of balconies also on the higher floors above ours. Scaffolding came. I had to make space. I retrashed the poor little bear after at least 10 years. But I think someone took it before the big truck came.

IKEA Utrusta Cupboard Shelves

More IKEA cuboard shelves.

Two packs of two each, sealed, complete, brandnew, undamaged. €8 the pack at the time. Four shelves sold after ten days €5. Another story of bought too many for one home, needing more at a lower price in another.
