Artist's Box With Paint

I found the high quality oil paint inside the box, bust listed it seperately and sold it the same day March 21, 2017, €15,50. My birthday, nice present! A week later I sold the box, ore wooden case €7,50.

Two Miffy Bags

These simple bags look inexpensive, maybe not even worth listing but as I explained before, Miffy is Nijntje in The Netherlands, so if they are marked Miffy they must have come from abroad. To my surprise I sold the set after a week €4.

Mystery Etnic Craft Or How I Came Back To My Blog

I used to blog in the hour between tv watching and going to bed. Photo's I took in the morning (best light in the yard) on free days, or even before work if I was allowed to start working from home. After losing that job in 2014 things didn't change much first, because I enjoyed unemployment money for long, but in 2017 I was forced to start an early morning part time job taking a lot of my energy. Then in 2018 started the evening work which suited me better but changed everything and therefore there was no news from me since then until a few months ago. Finally I managed to push myself into taking the laptop that I bought somewhere in between to tv watching on my few free evenings. Currently I have some extra free evenings. That helped to start to use the time to blog about all those things from the past never shown. Soon I will have more work again, but now that I have the habit back I'll keep on going.

Having an evening jobs means mornings free, but not blogging anymore killed my enthusiasm for taking pictures. And of course I didn't have time to curb shopping any more so not much new stuff coming in.

But so much past finds to still get rid of. And I still find cool stuff in front of the door. Currently I can't take in big stuff because I have no space to store it. Time to do something about it to make space! Back into blogging I managed to push myself to go for it. So I reopened my shop, well that is my Dutch Ebay account:

The photo on top is a recent find that I donated to thrift shop. Ethnic decorative wooden item. I have no idea fom where of what possible meaning it may have.

Vintage Plant Stand Or Milking Stool

This small piece of furniture from in frront of my door is to low to make a sitting stool, but isn't sturdy enough to serve as a climbing stool, so I listed it as a 'milking stool', suitable to use as a plant stand. It could have been used as a work stool for like fixing bicycles or so. I thought 1960's or older. Pretty cute. Listed March 2017, went June €5 including wear of paint. Was picked up at the door by someone very happy with it.

Seventies Glass Vase

Totally loved this vase as we had more or less the same at home in my childhood. It's fairly cheap cast glass, made in... China, Taiwan or. The welt is clearly visible, but then it's very thick and heavy which makes it a quality product after all. I just had no use for it.

Found March 2017, sold September €3.

Fake Delft Blue Eggcups

I can't remember selling these. Not in computer admin. But not donated to thrift shop. So most likely market. Not genuine Delft Blue. No signature, but hand-painted and cute. Some people collect eggcups.

IKEA CD Racks

In 2013 I found these two, finally in my blog 2015, see bottom of post. Already out of production but still sought after. Sold then as I remember €4 each, but I have no computer admin from that long ago.

I went looking back for them as I found these photo's from 2017. They are the half sized version, but somehow someone had stuck a repro of the late Dutch artist/musician Herman Brood on the back of one of them. Somewhat curious, but I was happy to get rid of them €2,5 for the set.

Update 2024-08-30:

Just found this photo.taken March 2017. The large model again. While shooting I noticed minimal damage and never tried to sell it. See left bottom there's a crack in the joint. I use it for the few cd's that I still want to keep. Untill.

Steinhauer Reading Lamp

An older model from the Steinhauer light range, but with LED lamp as far as I can judge. Working. Needed wall fixation so for a person who could get that done somehow. Value new over €70. Sold after four months €9, not much but I was happy at the time.

Dog Beds

I was getting a bit confused over all the wicker dog beds that I found and sold, as two of them looked so much alike. But I figured it out. First there was this one that I sold at a very handsome €25. But there was a special story.

https://trashcollector.blogspot.com/2016/01/

Then this one sold €5 September 2016.

Please scroll down to find if you have the patience.

And the last, same thing I think. But my angle of the shot is different. Found March 2017, sold May also €5.

Zapf Creations Baby Born Doll

Another find from simply in front of the door. When researching for value I found that it was out of date and modern day Baby Born dolls have all sorts of electronic extra's probably controlled by chips and I wondered if it would go. I was happy to find out that at least one mother wanted a toy that asked for the own imagination of her child. The doll itself was in pretty good condition, the clothing had some wear, bust mostly just pilling. It was picked up after three weeks €4.

Trash In My Street

Just for fun early evening trash night in front of my door, April 2017. It's not usually that bad but I've seen it after. I don't think I found anything useful here. Too bad the kid's bike is missing a back wheel. Still fixable. Most likely taken by iron collecctors.

Candy Pink Sprayed Basket

I still have this, found April 2017. It wouldn't go, although in good shape that colour is... You got me. Though I have others (except the big wicker one in that old post) I use it for laundry at times, cats sleep in it once in a while and it's starting to show some more wear (sharp nails helping). Maybe someday it will land in the yard just for them. Untill it falls apart. But then it will have had a good second life.

Salad Spinner

I'm sure I sold this at a market, but can't find it back in my Excel admin. Because it's good as new and of better quality than the one in my kitchen that I rarely use. But nevertheless if decided to give it away I would have exchanged them.

Sliding Window Weight

This was almost antique, and I still see people offering sets of them: https://www.marktplaats.nl/q/raamgewichten/ but I never managed to sell it. Just having a single one probably didn't help. Forgot what I did to get rid of it! Nothing in admin whatsoever.

Cute Glazed Plant Pot

I tried to sell this in 2017 just because I could use every cent. It never went, maybe because of the chip and I still have it. But I didn't push it that hard because I love the cute little pot. And it's not a just a decorative outer pot, as it has a draining hole it's double functional. However for all those years it sat unused somewhere in my yard. But now it's waiting for a one of two curb found indoor plants that I rescued that deserve a better pot. Haven't decided yet.

Turned Wooden Bowl

A fine piece of turned woodwork. Made most likely with the help of machines, but hand held so artisanal for sure. Though some TLC may have been required, I loved it for being refined and simple at the same time. Otherwise somehow it looks like it once had a lid. Which I didn't have. It never sold. Can't remember if I donated it to the thrift shop or giveaway shop, but I certainly didn't retrash it.

Cheap Pillar Candle Holder

One of those fairly crappy things from shops like Action or Xenos produced by poorly paid people far away from Europe. Made to look shabby chic industrially, so fashionable at the time around 2017. But look even the top is in plastic.

Found by my neighbour on dog walking tour. Sold after six weeks €5. Hopefully better loved by new owner then the one who trashed it.

Hugo Boss Chic Men's Shoes

I found this pair near my house early April 2017. No matter how expensive Hugo Boss may be, the leather was not even stitched to the sole but just glued. And the glue had gone loose on one of them on one side. But otherwise they were just the finest and far from worn out. Just look at the pretty pattern in the leather. So I brought them to a shoe repair shop, paid €10 and sold them €21 in May.

More Square Wicker Baskets Or Closet Organizers

Single item, not even a set, but near new and of decent quality. Found April 2017, sold August €10. Looking back I'm surprised about that amount! I think at the shop I'd stick €5 max on it!

But the fun is looking back in photo's I found this one, almost the same, listed March 2017, sold a few days after the other one, €3,50. But it had some signs of wear.

Green Bottle Vase And Clear Glass Jug Vase

Both sold the same day so I take it to the same person. Also listed together early April 2017. The set was picked up €10 around six weeks later.

Vintage Suitcase

Vintage cardboard suitcase, pretty worn and far from unique. But found in front of my door I thought I'd give it a try. Listed early April 2017, sold barely a month later €10. Lady told me she 'collected' them for storage in her bedroom.

Three Very Cute Baskets

Flat multi-purpose baskets, but perfect to make closet or wardrobe organizers, lined and decorated. Cheaply made in a country far away from the Western world, by a very poorly payed worker. Stuff I honestly think shouldn't exist. But better resold than incinerated immediately. Even though cotton and wicker leaves just clean ashes.

There wasn't even a brand mark on them. Wonder where and how cheaply they were sold new, so I was pretty suprised to get even €10 for the set.

All The Bread Boxes I Ever Had And One Wooden One Sold

I don't store my bread in bread boxes. Stays fresher in fridge and keeps longer! Yet I had a number of them in my life. For crackers or cookies or so. But they left my house after not having place for them any more. Here's the list:

I once started out with a bread box like this one (think 1984 or so). But in ochre yellow. Equally chipped. It came from my gandmother's place, dating from before 1950 for sure. I think after she moved from her kind of primitive old little house to a comfy flat closer to my parent's place.

It wasn't very practical. Unbelievable people sell this on Etsy at this price. I found one on a Dutch site cheaper and without any damage.

I trashed it (but this is way before internet time and the possibilities of selling stuff on line) after I found one like this on the curbs. My mum had it in off white I think.

But mine's plastic strips were in white. What I remember is they never wanted to stay in place. I also retrashed it. Model same as my mums's and the white and red I had later on.

I think because around 1992 we bought a micrwave oven. Our first ever and had to be placed on top of the fridge. Where bread box was. So it went out.

End of 2005 Man and I got the luxury of getting two next door apartments. Fridge stayed my place. Neighbour moving to a home gave him one. Microwave went to him. Then at some time later I found a wooden bread box to put on top of my fridge.

Then my friend Freek from down the street brought me a microwave oven taken from his mother's place (also moving to a home). Worked but with a hick up, timer didn't automatically stop. But better then no microwave at all. So this breadbox had to go as well. This time listed on internet and sold €3 after seven months.

Last one: picked up from trash to sell only in colours I loved best of all, white and read. See previous post here.

Heineken Beer Sweater And T-Shirt 'On The Rocks'

From the bag with the caps : skiing themed promo garments, sold within two weeks without much hassle. First listed as a set but without pics...
